01The short version

Xtrakt collects no data. Everything the extension does happens locally in your browser.

02What Xtrakt processes

When you watch a YouTube video with subtitles enabled, YouTube sends caption data to your browser. Xtrakt reads that stream locally to build the searchable transcript, the progress-bar markers, the reader and the exports.

This processing never leaves your machine. Xtrakt operates no servers, calls no APIs and requires no API keys.

03What Xtrakt stores

The extension uses Chrome's storage permission for one purpose: remembering interface preferences, such as whether the widget is collapsed. No transcript content, no watch history and no personal data are stored beyond your own browser.

04What Xtrakt sends

Nothing. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporters, no tracking pixels and no accounts.

05This website

xtrakt.fr is a static site. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics.

06Verify it

The entire source code is public under the MIT license. The strongest privacy policy is one you can audit yourself.
